We focus on calm communication, affordable steps, trustworthy sources, and plans that fit real life. We respect official emergency guidance and encourage visitors to understand the risks in their own communities.

My connection to preparedness began long before SWC. Spending time on my grandparents’ farm in North Carolina showed me what practical self-reliance looked like: heating with wood stoves, canning food, growing what you could, and making thoughtful use of what was available.
Those memories shaped my belief that preparedness does not have to be extreme, expensive, or intimidating. I have a genuine passion for helping people understand their options, take one practical step at a time, and feel more capable of caring for themselves and the people they love.
I am also the author of two preparedness books, Surviving What’s Coming: A Guide on How to Survive the End of the World and 101 Ways to Prepare for Emergencies. I am preparing to rewrite and republish both as fully updated editions that reflect what I have learned and SWC’s calmer, practical, household-focused approach to preparedness.
