Information we collect

We may collect information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, contact reason, organization, checklist request, preparedness question, newsletter permission, and general preparedness interests. Downloading a direct SWC resource does not require you to submit personal information.

Email subscriptions and consent

Joining an SWC email list is optional. Requesting a checklist or asking a question does not by itself authorize unrelated marketing email. When ongoing email is offered, we use a separate permission choice, record the signup source and date when available, and provide an unsubscribe method in marketing messages. We do not sell mailing-list information.

Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, traffic sources, resource downloads, readiness interactions, and how people move through the website. The Google tag starts with analytics storage denied. Analytics activates only after you select “Accept analytics” in our cookie notice. If accepted, Google may process information such as device and browser details, approximate location, pages viewed, and interactions with the website.

With analytics consent, SWC also stores a first-party timestamp in your browser so we can count an anonymous return visit. The site sends only approved operational labels such as page placement, campaign source, guide slug, readiness band, and broad resume state. Other custom parameter names are discarded, and custom text is shortened before it can reach analytics. We do not intentionally send names, contact details, messages, preparedness answers, saved priorities, or cross-site advertising identifiers with these events.

You may decline analytics without losing access to the website. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie preferences” in the website footer. Clearing your browser storage may also reset your choice.

How information may be used

Information may be used to deliver requested resources, respond to messages, improve educational content, operate and protect the website, measure site performance, and send communications you requested. You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time.

Service providers

Website hosting, form processing, email delivery, analytics, embedded media, and social platforms may process information on SWC’s behalf. Current providers include this website’s hosting, Jotform, Google Analytics, email delivery services, and social media platforms.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion where applicable by emailing survivingwhatscoming@gmail.com. You may also decline or change optional analytics consent through the website’s Cookie preferences control.
